Full view please, my dear - I worked very hard on this piece!
I wanted to try and blend several aspects of my style in this picture, and whether I failed or succeeded at this I'll leave up to you.. But I am quite proud of this piece. I worked virtually entirely in one colour spectrum, and put a lot of love into it.
It is, of course, Baal - my favourite original character from my manga project Pride. the title "mysterium tremendum" comes from philosophy, and refers to "religious experience". It literally means "tremendous mystery", in a more flowery way.
Entirely opencanvas drawn, will be available for print ASAP, comments are always welcome, leave me some love ^ ^;
Sorry I've been away from you guys so long, I wanted to do something good to make up for being absent so long owing to exams. Ganbarimashita ne.
P.S. No prizes for counting the number of eyes and butterflies in the picture.. But it might give you something to do!
wow - you've really developed this piece since you posted the preview on your lj it's lovely, as always. great job. i love how you worked in a monotone - it brings out the picture and it fits perfectly. excellent work.
Oh my...such intricate designs and close attention to detail.
I'm so glad there are artists out there who put so much time and effort to create such complex pictures. I love works like these and try simulate them, but I can't find the patience to complete it. It's beautiful.
Haha well.. for a while I was worried that I didn't really know what I was doing I love the monotone, too, I have always wanted to pull off a piece like that, especially as I LOVE these colour combinations.
You've shown me the various stages of this picture, so I've followed it's development.....it's awesome.
The detail, the colours, just the sheer amount of what there is to look at is breath taking. If a picture is worth 1000 words, then surely this is a 900 page novel all in itself! It really does take you a while to take every single bit in, you see one part and it gets you thinking "whys that the way it is?" and "What is that on her sleeve?", thought provoking just in the detail.
Your talent will take you far, keep going!
I've also realised I have gotten through this comment without saying one vital thing.............you suck!

Nothing hurts my world,
just affects the ones around me

I LOVE all the eyes and faces "hidden" in the picture
